Make sure they are paying fair compensation to other realtors who will bring you great tenants.   

Also file a complaint with the CFPB Submit a complaint | Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (consumerfinance.gov)Regarding do you have any legal action - you can prove you do not owe it but you will not get any compensation - courts have ruled long ago the only recourse you have is actual money you lost - there is no "pain and suffering" if a statement is incorrect and you have to fight with them on it.

Is this an internal property management company that is compensated on keeping costs low, tenants ( 400 SFR's ) happy so that they stay and pay their section 8?

I wouldn't reply the same today because the DR lies in the middle of the Caribbean and is therefore the victim of sargassum.

Also, I would gladly compensate more experienced developers to visit the site with me for input. 

So every year you do not compensate by raising rents, you are losing money.

Offer a buyer's compensation for their agent as well to sweeten it for someone already represented. 

Ultimately if you have proper insurance, 99.9% of plaintiff's attorneys are going to be most focused on securing the insurance carrier's cooperation because the plaintiff's attorney is most likely representing their client on a contingent basis and the insurance proceeds are how they are compensated.

This in effect means LLs paid for the housing of these tenants by law without getting compensated.
