Most of the time there is only one water meter.

Does anyone know who to hire to have water sub-metered in Springfield, MA?

My unit does not have its own meter and has a breaker box with most of the outlets and lights within my unit, but no access to the main breaker.

I do feel the whole metering is a bit messy though.

I don't see how its any different from someone paying a private metered spot hourly and getting towed after the meter runs out.

I'm 100% sure that if I called up the Bedford water department, said I was thinking of buying a house in the area and asked for a ballpark figure, they'd give me the best answer they could.Water is definitely the utility which is covered by landlords most often, but I think for the most part that's just because it's not separately metered very often.

The property is a triplex, converted out of an old house that's been taken care of very well (as far as I can see without a building inspector), so the water and gas are not split out into separate meters for the tenants (electrical is).In order to make this deal work, I'd love to figure out a way to invoice the tenants for those utilities.

Recently purchased a duplex that has separate gas/electric meters for each unit, but only a single water meter serving both units. 

Let me know if you use the sub meter service.

It is 2 parcels, with a shared water meter for everything.
