From a selfish standpoint, having homeless people camping out on the street is bad for property values and safety.

I think you should consider starting up a summer camp.

There are people with very rural properties here, with even just camping areas on their property, who do well on AirBnB.

If you are planning on just parking it on some open land than you will be "dry camping" the entire time. 

@Isaac B.You’ve heard from both ends of the spectrum: the “what will it really hurt”/“is it worth the trouble and frustration in your life stressing about it” for so little difference camp (I’m in that camp) and also the camp that says “you both signed the lease, so do whatever you want as long as it’s covered under the lease” camp (who clearly don’t understand Portland rentals and aren’t going to be there to pay for the attorneys and damages you’ll owe after the fact if you try to force an issue).If the tenant isn’t willing to sign an agreement to show and take compensation for those showings then I wouldn’t push the issue right now.

@Wade Kulesa keep in mind that Dave Ramsey is a business as well and he wants to keep you 100% in his camp.

If there is a vacancy I will go and live in the house with camping gear until it's rented again.

I'm in the, "don't raise the rent on a good tenant, until times are better" camp.... ;-)
