The reason for this is we are paying for our MBAs during that time and want to save up for our wedding.

I have 2 loans that jumped half a point from Wed to Fri last week because I didn't lock.

We started later, some of the hotels never bothered to open, restaurants have been a little slower, our July 4th celebration didn't appear to have half the usual people and none of the vendors, etc.

That is on Wed so it would also be the first thing you can check out if you are motivated to get out. 

My wife and I have been self employed the bulk of our 22 years of glorious wedding bliss - so, making the jump back to a 1099 employee was easy.
