Houston TX and new to BP

Hello to everyone on BP!!

I am a newly married ( April 2017) oil and gas project manager in the Houston area with absolutely no experience within the Real Estate Investment world. I work a 9/80 meaning I get every other Friday off so for that I am very grateful as it has allowed me to spend additional time in educating myself on the real estate investment world which is a big one to grasp!!!

To keep it short, here are some books I have read over the past 9 months in addition to the Rich Dad Coaching I went through last year which left me disappointed. That’s another forum entirely.

The books below have not really “taught” me a single thing for Real Estate Investments but it has most definitely changed the way I think (outside the box) about currency, 401k’s, cash flow and taxes to say the least.

  • Rich Dad Poor Dad (Robert T. Kiyosaki). I have read it before but a good read none the less.
  • Why 'A' Students Work for 'C' Students and 'B' Students Work for the Government (Robert T. Kiyosaki)

After I read some of the above I then dove deeper into specifics by reading the following.

  • The Book on Investing in Real Estate with No and Low Money Down. (Brandon Turner)

I now have plans to dive deeper into BP, more specific books, BP podcasts that I literally just downloaded for the first time today, and work through the free content / beginners guides. Basically digging into just about anything I can get my hands on.

So cheers to the stupid questions I will have and thanks in advance for the patients and help I might receive along the way. I hope to contribute real world knowledge whether good or painful in my journey and provide true and accurate numbers on deals that were a success and those that were a failure!!

Thanks,
Dave
