On a side note, such "good" debt is not always in monetary term: in the province of Québec (and others) here in Canada, the government will pay a aspiring doctor's medical school tuition in exchange for 5-8 years of service in a rural or remote community upon graduation.

This is similar to a Doctor going through residency where he doesn't make much money to survive on but after he graduates, his salary goes up and up.Or is it better to take a job where you get your monthly $1k per month forever but there is no internship?

My wife is currently a medical resident and in 4 years she will be a doctor, at which time our household income will likely go from 220k to around 400k.
