I guess the downside is the loss of the deal in the first place (not that there is any shortage of people needing funding) and then the idea Ann Bellamy brought up about a BK trustee clawing back the property I had taken through this process.Might create a big mess.Still not sure.Thanks for your responses.

The lender will look at their assets though, so if they have a lot of money in the bank or mutual funds or those types of things they will want them to try to remedy the shortage themselves.

$600 billion, not $600 million, although there was such a typo in the Wall Street Journal,The Fed buys bonds, which creates a shortage of bonds relative to all the cash out there that would otherwsie be invested in bonds, which creates excess liquidity since that cash needs to be invested elsewhere.
