They send them out the next day and they aren't very expensive and you can target any lead and they have the postcards already made which makes things much easier.

I have 3 different groups for my direct mail program. starting next week i am going to send out 1,000 direct mail postcards to group 1. 2 weeks after that send another 1,000 to group 2 and 2 weeks after that send a 1,000 to group 3. 2 weeks after that i will start back at group 1 and keep going the cycle going from there.
