Real estate is a big lumbering elephant compared to the nimble stock market, but it's still a gamble to wait to time the market for downturns and upturns.   

They are looking to rent them out, rehab them, potentially unload ones that turn out not to meet their investing models.They pay cash.

@Mike Hasson, I knew the roof needed to be replaced, but wasn't prepared for the perfect storm of spiking lumber costs and hidden labor. 

This specific topic fascinates me as guys in my area are unloading portfolios, sitting on cash, and waiting for the next dip.  

Some quotes I received so far were 11K-15K for basic 20 x 20 2 car garage but I have more coming in.Ive been told I can get it much cheaper if I call a lumber/building supply store and get a "garage kit" and have someone build it.

Lumber, Steel and Copper prices have gone down which will help new house construction costs.
