Some of it is cultural, I am a kiwi (new Zealander), and most of our clients are from similar cultures to ours where we tend to resent paying for anything.

Some great Chinese construction supply houses in the city with good contemporary styles, and low prices so I can do nice kitchens, baths, floors for reasonable prices.

Up to that point, I had been saving money for tuition, so when I dropped out I had a nice little pile of cash that wasn't being used for tuition anymore, and if it wasn't for my dad's foresight I probably would've spent it on something dumb like a 6-month-long spring break (The "drunk on the beach" kind, not the "seeing the world and becoming a more-well rounded, cultured individual" kind).

This usually ends up in a "culture shock" mentality - where suddely BiggerPockets is the bad guy because we don't allow what everyone else does.

Companies are choosing to move here due to the much lower cost of living that does not sacrifice the convenience, culture, and entertainment of living in a larger City.

I haven’t had any issues or problems interacting or even meeting new people from different cultures.
