Some of those reasons are: Continued consistent population growth, which translates into a large amount of wealth moving in, the still relatively affordable median home price, high job migration, no state income tax, relatively reasonable property taxes, business friendly.There are also some reasons to be cautious, like increasing insurance costs, threat of weather incidences, the cash flow returns have decreased due to the significant increase in prices over the past few years. 

About the wind i do live in Colorado but i assume we connect the carport to footings and anchor it for something like this .. plus permanent install translates to a permanent land improvement instead of just sitting it down on the ground and calling it a day

I am feeling overwhelmed by options, things I've learned, and fear of the future.Right now my wife and I are trying to make a huge, potentially life altering, decision.

Brand new knob and tube would be marginally ok, if you added a ground wire. 125 yr old wire of any kind is a hazard, and knob and tube in particular has a lot of issues Some of the previous posters have tried to justify it saying that it is legal because it was up to code when installed.....but they neglect to say that any K&T system still in place has certainly been altered, modified, added to since it was installed...and that automatically makes it illegal.

It is the clearest case of an alter ego.
