As David said, for a SFR, that effort is overkill and all too often, those starting out get bogged down with spreadsheets, tablet applications, digital 3D renderings and in doing so, loose focus on what the point is - get in at the right price, get it done for the right price in the right time and cash in on the way out. 

After you have done a few renovations, you will have a feel for what a project or entire room will cost and get pretty close in a ballpark when you do a walk-through with a notebook or tablet. 

Where to eat, etc etc.The electronic stuff looks interesting, but I think it will be too much work for people and the tablet will go missing from time to time.

The best way to search for them is if you have a smart phone or tablet download the app Realtor.com and set up a search for multifamily homes.

Hi guys, I was at an asset protection conference and one of those guru's who tries to sell you a tablet and a "program" was all about index linked overfunded insurance and I liked some of what I heard.

The application can be filled out via phone as well though IMO (i've tried it) - it's a bit tedious - Maybe I'm old school but I can input data many times faster with a keyboard/mouse and a larger screen...Guess if you were using a tablet such as an I-pad it would be a bit easier though.
