We represent CBIZ as well as other local (Florida based) carriers that provide coverage for short term rental (STR) on a dwelling fire form.

I have an STR on Dauphin Island below Mobile, and our house is not Gold Certified. 

I just actually rented my first str on a fishing trip to montana last week and I used VRBO.. and looking for a unit in Maui when I go in Dec  so going to use VRBO again.WE have our first one as an owner up and running in INdy.. got tenants first week on market.. hopefully a good sign.

For example, a STR on Myrtle beach is going to stay rented compared to one in the middle of nowhere SC and a MTR within 20 miles of 3 hospitals will stay booked compared to one 50 miles away from one hospital.

As long as your research strongly suggests high demand, just do STR on both.

If anybody has links to good articles showing what items to buy for STR on Amazon, that would be helpful.

If you figure out through your underwriting that operating an STR only nets you $100 more per month compared to an LTR, but you're spending 20 extra hours a month to do so, does it make more sense to simply do an LTR?
