@Zach Simpson I think the notion that having a longer term lease to prevent vacancies in the dead of winter is fooling oneself is rather simplistic thinking.

This is why I am so against leveraging oneself to the hilt, taking out all equity to buy another property, etc. 

It's definitely an unfortunate circumstance to find oneself in.

What really appeals to me about becoming an investor is the flexibility it offers and the social aspect of interacting with others whilst working and providing income for oneself.

If the desired outcome is losing an important relationship or straining one, and allowing oneself to vent and feel better for a few minutes, that’s not a very business forward approach.

The saying suggests that true knowledge begins with understanding oneself, as self-awareness serves as a foundation for understanding the world and one's place in it.To "know thyself" is to engage in introspection, to examine one's beliefs, values, strengths, weaknesses, and limitations.

And note, I didn't say no "deals" are done, I am highlighting the reality of it, because I hear a lot of perception that one joins and "POW" there's deals left right and center flying around as though it's plugging oneself into a vibrant deal-flow, which is nothing at all what it is.
