I can't imagine I would ever book direct if there wasn't at least some flexibility in a refund.

You definitely do see the difference you just refuse to admit it. imagine if this were the other way around.

Now imagine dealing with them for your rent.

Imagine trying to ask an owner permission to add on hot tub or high cost item just so you can compete.

Just imagine reducing your living expense, owning an asset, and having your tenants pay the bulk of the mortgage, then repeating this a few times over all while every year the rents go up.

At first, it did look good on paper when I ran the numbers, but now owning them for a couple of years it didn't pan out how I imagined.

I mean if you are talking about a $2 million house than sure $160k damage is possible, but if $160k is the replacement value of the home its hard to imagine a payout near that for a pipe burst.

Over the past few months I have learned more just from YouTube, podcasts, books, and Bigger Pockets forum then I could have ever imagined.

I imagine with some more time on market and good reviews you could do slightly better, but I hear the market is still a little saturated there.
