The prices are still much more reasonable than most of Orlando, but the next 10 years Apopka will see explosive growth (at least in new builds and retail, appreciation likely will be a result).

I spoke to my mentor and he filled me in on what happened to get us in the position we are at now. 1) low oil prices causing loss in jobs, so people leave Alaska.2) low oil prices making the valley a viable option to live, so big explosion of housing out there, creating a lower demand in anchorage. 3)for many years in the past, we have enjoyed a 2-3% empty rate until recently.
