I'm a land development civil engineer in the Austin area and love it over here.

It's just a good idea to be ready to pivot with a traveling nurse/clinician in the event that COVID or civil unrest ramps up.

From a civil engineering perspective, I have experience creating civil engineering site plans and permitting for apartment complexes in Houston. 

That creates a civil dispute that police may or may not assist with until you go to court over it. 

I'd say avoid South Lake Tahoe (litigation pending) and Anaheim.

It is likely they will simply tell their atty they don't want to pay, he will say they're likely liable, but you are already demonstrating an unwillingness to litigate so the result is their direction to the atty will be simply stall and delay knowing that you're probably not going to sue...especially as you get deeper and deeper into this your resolve wears thin. 

Like the sheriff said, it's common sense and not a civil issue. 

After hearing about those tax court cases and that REPS is highly litigated, I hope my friends re-examine their time logs and delete those webinar and Zoom office hours.
