One of our Bloggers, Justin Pierce, wrote a fantastic article that took an in depth look at all of the costs associated with a house flip.

There was not YouTube, DIY bloggers or social media available to show him what to do or give him fabulous ideas. 

Money Mustache is one of my favorite financial bloggers, and when I'm not on the BP forums, I'm on the MM forums. :)He's way more hardcore than I'll ever be, but if you just take a few nuggets away from his way of life, you'll be doing well.

Reach out to newspapers, bloggers, etc. 

One blogger who does extensive marketing purposely doesn't answer the phone to see who is motivated enough to leave a message.

I would say the most descriptive award I've received is "Newbie Blogger" which doesn't say much for my blogging skills, but also doesn't necessarily give anyone a very good idea of what I actually do.

But that post I made was so good that some blogger copied it verbatim with no credits / attribution whatsoever.

Reach out to influential bloggers and others in the industry and build relationships. 4.)

I read another post where the blogger said he got involved with local community planning activities to give back to the community and find out where the next developments were going to be.
