The entire rear addition is unstable and needs to be removed/replaced  (about an 8-foot deep wood staircase with landings and entrances to each of the 4 units, plus extra space for ~60 SF per unit).

If that is the case, I would NOT convert it ... instead, you could look to add a "mother in law suite", casita, ADU, or whatever you want to call it with its own separate entrance and maybe shared access to laundry that you could rent out, but still keep it a single family.

A 2 story home with separate entrances (Possibly built so 15+ years convert it into a single home with upstairs/downstairs)Basically, I am asking if this situation would work.Sell current home, and build a new home in that half of the property would be rented out and I would live in the other half while being the landlord.

I am currently shopping around for a Camara Security system for my 10unit apartment complex, located in Grandview, MO.I am wanting to be able to monitor all exterior corners along with entrances and common areas in the interior - it would be about a total of 15 camaras.
