Noting: Sub-metering & Lowering rents has only been done in a very small minority of our sub-metered properties.Obviously, rental increases or residents paying for their own water/sewer is a temporary uncomfortable situation, but is necessary to keep a multi-tenant property a viable business.We’re here to answer your sub-metering questions… Dan Helton

Not to mention, new builds may be more attractive to renters.Final thoughts: I don't mind the temporary discomfort of house hacking (though I very much would like to have my own space; my wife and I have never lived in a single-family by ourselves since we have been married.), but I do not want to live in a neighborhood that is not safe.
