Unless you plan on buying multiple properties in NC.It is a beautiful area and is surrounded by a lot of great attractions but does not have a large appeal in and of itself, at least compared to Gatlinburg.I have friends that have STRs throughout Western NC and they love them.

I do not, but figured I would respond since this was posted to the Pittsburgh forum and I do western PA and West Virginia buy and hold + assignments.For finding one I ended up going with ones that were at local investor meetings and picking a couple that were investing themselves so I knew they walked the walk.

I'm looking to pull some equity out of my rental in western Colorado for short term use.

Real estate in Western WA is hot.

Korea has some very interesting & creative real estate projects which I think would surprise most Western/American investors. 

I wish I had something useful to contribute, but I'm currently only in new SFR on the western slope.

Been looking mostly in the western US, but have been looking at getting into some markets in the south so any info would be appreciated.

I am now looking to start networking with local investors in western NC and more specifically in the Boone, Blowing Rock area. 

Our good friends have had very good success in the western outlying towns. 

This room has western exposure with a LOT of windows and tends to get quite warm if the blinds are left open, so I suspect this will be a significant issue.I really appreciate this forum.
