@Drew Dowdell I think what you're referring to is called cultured marble, at least it is in my area.

No way of knowing if it runs and the junkyard will give me approx $300 for it - which doesn't equal to the amount required for me to store/auction after 30 days under FL statue.

Re: chapter 475 FL statues it is a third degree felony to broker without a license.

I tend to like to do a tumbled marble backsplash with an accent in the middle (running through the switches and outlets).

On top of that there's also statue of limitations on fraud if that is your concern. 

But the only real low hanging fruit besides paint, lighting and wall fixtures is the sink, I hate those "cultured marble" ones.

These guys put in marble which is a harder material to work with and it turned out beautifully.

I would just stay away from the dated patterns of granite (eg condo grade spotted tiger type pattern) and go for uniform color with very faint marbling to mimic quartz.
