I would appreciate input from the BP community as to the best way to approach this from a financial and tax perspective.  

Really puts into perspective my strategy given my current situation.I will continue to accumulate capitol and work on my skills/knowledge for when i will embark on my rental real estate journey whether it be here (if i stay longer than anticipated) or when I come back to the US once my contract is completed. 

Just wanted to chime in from a tax perspective, something to keep in mind and plan to have some discussions with your CPA:Using the property for personal use during the year will prevent you from recognizing some expenses on your property.

Some agents are also wholesalers and/or get leads from wholesalers.That said, it is an industry that has some grey areas to it from a legal perspective.

I was a foster child who put myself through college on my own, and I have relied on some good friends for a place to stay as I grew up, which has motivated me to create a better life for myself.I have done a lot of research on real estate, and from my perspective, it seems as if wholesaling, which I feel my sales skills may help with, would be a good place to start to make some extra money to speed up the investing process.

I think it depends on the strategy right , I am still a beginner and wanted something more turnkey rather than BRRRR.How would you think of something form that perspective ?

I ran all of the numbers and it seems to be pretty safe from a cashflow perspective.

Those are fantastic strategies, and your interests outside of real estate bring such a well-rounded perspective.

Even more interesting/amusing is that one poster comes from the perspective of being a helpful collaborator trying to provide guidance while the other is angry and offended at the ignorance being bandied about.
