Used to the woods would be called the "thousand acres" and you could ride your bicycle down the interconnecting dirt roads in the woods to Allatoona lake.

We love Iowa, and I am thinking about trying to fit in RAGBRAI this year as I also love riding my bicycle (a little bit difficult here in the desert, but not impossible).We are thoroughly enjoying our international lifestyle, but we are without the major benefits that come with being a public school teacher in the United States.

We lived like monks throughout school, eating rice and beans, riding our bicycles in the rain to class, traveling/sleeping in our Honda CRV for vacations, and working internships during the breaks to save for our downpayment.
