Land A the buyer happily paid for their own test and will be getting back with me next week about purchasing the land or not.Land B, the buyer went to Sweden for a couple weeks so the seller is paying for it.

And as far as it being okay with fair housing - my point was that if you bend the rules now for anybody - black, white, gay, Section 8, Asian, Native American, huge family, whatever - and you decide you want to go back to your original criteria - you might not be able to.

So, unless you are only doing upgrades for your gay tenants, and refusing to do any upgrades for your heterosexual tenants, for instance, I can't see any basis for discrimination regarding upgrades in units.It took me a while, but I learned some pat responses to things tenants might say or ask for.
