So, I just left a conference about a week ago where I talked with a colleague about REI and left super jacked and ready to invest.

That doesn't mean all operators are out of the game, but many are due to bid/ask spread differences, interest rates, capital raising issues, leverage, and other issues.Brad Sumrok out of Dallas has a nice conference coming up in August/September timeframe. 

It seems Eastern TN is highly saturated / competitive for STR's, but it is such a desirable location for STR's. 

Industry events, conferences, and online forums like SponsorNetwork can be a fantastic way for you to connect with experienced sponsors and investors.And don't be discouraged by a lack of prior deals.

Based upon the SSA virtual conferences I have attended and conversations with other operators, most have been able to keep their doors open to serve the community. 

I was just out in Tampa for a conference last week and am missing the weather already. 

It's also smack dab in the middle of the state, so it's very central for conferences, shipping, and commuting. 

BUT I do think the eastern panhandle has a lot of promise and I'm curious if anyone else with experience here agrees?

Located in eastern Iowa it isn't a high traffic area.

I haven't attended any meetup yet, but I've gone to a few local conferences.
