My friend may need to call a lawyer since it appears that criminal charges were filed against the previous property owner the day after the property changed hands and the solicitor is unwilling to answer any questions about said charges as my friend is not the named defendant yet was the legal owner at the time.

Hi Frank,Yes, if you have a LLC, that is treated as a separate "person" and therefore the LLC needs an attorney to represent it in court, be it eviction or defending itself.

If N is merely claiming $200, better to just pay or offer half and ask him to notify you *before* there is damage.Or pay a lawyer to defend a nuisance suit for damages...
