The upside is that if you can find a property that meets your financial goals they tend to be a little more passive than investing in smaller MF as you have less tenants, no tenant-tenant drama, and you don't have to hire out lawn/snow/etc.Don't let anyone tell you what is a bad investment, do what makes sense for you.

He most likely abused the plumbing system letting hard waste going through the line and most probably used harsh chemicals such as drainex causing these issues.
