I could find people fairly easy.Add the excitement of a hurricane off the coast (resort shut down at 9 PM so workers could safely get home).

Other states I considered were Tennessee (specifically Nashville area) and Florida - the high insurance costs and being on the opposite coast with FL and again both are unknown markets.

Be also mentally and emotionally prepared for the folks that think just because this is not your primary home, it's somehow less of a catastrophic event for you because others did lose their primary homes.That's why it's vital for you to form support networks with people who are in your same boat - ideally in the same community.This truly pains me to share - but most of the disasters I'm seeing across Western NC are going to be considered flood events and if you do not have a separate flood policy you will likely get no coverage.

On a separate note, they may still want to come (if the airports let them in) and find another place to stay even if it's on the other coast or further north, depending what make it through, if they use the wait and see approach.
