After some updates, I found new tenants and got the unit rented out.

Either way, we’ll know in a week, and I’ll keep this forum updated.

I stay away from curtains as they can get dirty easily but I update the shades themselves to something nicer (plantation or shutter like shades or good quality roll down shades - black out in the bedroom).

UPDATE:  After 4 days of back and forth with Airbnb CS, they finally decided to do the right thing and issue my payout for a reservation that a guest cancelled in the amount of $1,333.75.
