I would do a little research and ask around in that area how deep other wells close by have gone, how has the water quality been etc..Now having said all that, you can drill a well and hit a good vein at 200 ft, and move 30 feet and miss that vein completely and go 900 ft, however, I think it is an indicator of what you might be able to expect if you see what the folks around you have done for wells.

@Ned Cavasian I suggest going with a light laminate that is flecked or softly veined, since these would really go well with your white cabinets and will also help your kitchen look big and light.
