There are a few other active members from Great Britain on BP, so someone should be able to field any England specific questions.Two other reasons I encourage education at this point are:1) Wholesaling - to do it property - requires a level of knowledge about real estate and markets that someone new to the industry simple does not possess.  

The issue with venting it through the soffit is heat rises and in the winter time in New England it can increase ice dams.

I know PEI restricts the ownership of agricultural lands, but have never investigated to see if there are similar restrictions to waterfront property.As for us, we are about half-way to our new revised goal, but have been basically stalled here for over a year as we've not found any deals worth purchasing.   90% of our properties are in NB, though We jointly own a property in New England and have been looking for properties in other parts of the U.S.A.

I sold my california condo which I was managing via property manager remotely and yes through the other corner of US (New England) :-).

I mentor new investors in the New England area and hear "I wish I had met you before I spent all of my money" they get caught up in the smoke and mirrors and want answers so badly they buy in and come out more confused and frustrated than ever.

Just to add, my challenge is that I only moved to Charlotte from England 8 years ago so my SOI is somewhat limited (I am an introvert) compared to others.
