Hi everyone,Pretty new here and planning on investing in a STR in Orlando.

I own a 3/2.5 condo just outside Universal Studios in Orlando.

The Orlando market may have a larger supply of homes uniquely suited for rent-by-the-room.

Orlando is another great market where land is a little more affordable. only issue in Miami is cost of land. you can do it more efficiently in central florida. the same plot of land is about 1/3 the price and about 10 miles closer to the main areas. don't be afraid to look at tampa too. we are identifying gaps in the market where we can build and develop for others at a discount and they can refinance their cash out.

Also where are some areas near big cities that locals look to for affordable housing.Here in south Florida the Miami area is thriving and pricey but people are starting to move north towards Orlando and west towards Naples for affordable housing.

I personally have a few properties ranging from Orlando down to North miami and can tell you that just insurance and property taxes alone are making it more and more difficult to invest here. 

I'm a licensed real estate agent in the Orlando/Central Florida area and also a real estate investor with 4 properties of my own.

Mine is doing what I would classify as poorly this year but I'm in a market just dripping with inventory (Orlando/4 Corners).

Most of my experience is in Tampa and Orlando from my national construction period and that's why we are starting there.
