Costs less to let it sit than paying a contractor 2-5k/week, I'm going to DIY some, and the location is awesome so no need to worry about break-ins/vandalism. 

Mr cool system was a DYI kit. 

I live about 3.5hr away but have a full time job, kids, and other commitments that make DIY challenging. 

You have someone build the deck/platform, assemble the kit, etc.

Having sold over $200 Million worth of this stuff I can say without the slightest doubt that, that's the more accurate predictor of performance than what some Joe DIY did or didn't do.It's not really as complicated as you guys may think.You've got your gross income folks.

should I pay a professional to do the work or do I attempt DIY?

I am biased but I truly believe in getting help it is not for everyone and many people are just fine DIY and this applies to all kinds of areas of expertise.   

i don’t mind buying my own materials if it would save me some cash. having a hard time deciding who to do my home improvements. good help is hard to come by these day, especially being new. the price increases doesn’t help as well. as much as i want to diy, i don’t want to mess anything up & still have to call for help!

Just spoke to a property owner we met here on BP.Very nice person who's been DIY managing their double-digit doors after being burned by bad PMCs in the past.Wanted weekly in-depth updates, all rents deposited in their bank account - and then they would pay the PMC their fee, and expected the PMC to use their PM software.Pretty much looking for a go'fer person, NOT a PMC.We wished them good luck.
