They can sit around and get their hair done, and have a flat screen TV, etc.The people in jail have no freedom. 

Many on here will split hairs about the interest you are paying vs what you can earn somewhere else, maybe the 'tax advantages' of mortgage interest?

The strong economy, desirability of transplants to the area and lack of affordability of purchasing SFR makes for a strong rental market.
