So if it's a liberal-conservative thing you're referring to, I'd suggest the liberals are certainly eating their own cooking when it comes to landlord-tenant laws. 

I’ve got a SFH and it’s got a small front and side yard but the back yard has a chain link fence and is big enough that all of my tenants for the past 3 years have had a vegetable garden and there is plenty of room that if any of them had had children there would be enough space for them to spread out and play.

If the property is in Chicago proper then you have to make sure you're using the right lease as Chicago's requirements are different than the rest of Cook County and different than Illinois. 

I charge less than a motel, plus they can cook and do laundry.
