Ironically I work for a property management company in Tampa Bay, but do not manage these types of rentals. 

Examples of this include when a plumbing inspector sees any cast iron left above the main stack they will make a plumber replace all that cast with PVC and possibly dig into the venting, etc.   

Old houses have cast iron pipers that will disintegrate (because of age and/or foundation shift).

Conversely, if you have a slab and the ground settles (which is very common in my area) then you are going to need something to fix the issue (which ironically is . . . piers!). 

You will be able to pass on your standard operating procedures manual and iron out any confusion that it creates.

You'll want to mention going in that you need to iron out the details with "the investor" (whoever you're assigning the contract to) and that once those numbers get settled you'll be able to do any final adjustments on the sale price. 

The cast iron was rusted through causing backups, so an insurance claim was filed, and 2 new PVC lines were installed under slab from appliances to septic tank.
