personally I believe it's prudent not to send mail within three days of thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Super Bowl Sunday, Mother's Day and the Fourth of July weekend.Direct mail like newspaper are a call to action media type whereas tv radio billboards and magazines are reinforcement.

Right now I am sending out Christmas cards to all my past clients..Adding a sticker at the back of the envelope saying "By the way I'm never too busy for you and your referrals" I bought a roll of 1000 that will last me for years..I do add a business card.This goes a long way
