The public, after all, will decide where to live, where to open and run businesses, and how much to pay for CA property.I happen to agree with Kelly's view that change in perceptions doesn't get "accelerated" until there is an "incident"...Just as the middle-aged man who, after surviving a life-threatening heart attack, finally begins heeding his doctor's advice to eat better and exercise more, Californians won't think twice about changing where they live unless (or until) an "incident" occurs which dramatically impacts their current way of life.

To me that sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen if you banned it and someone was attacked or hurt.

He is a residential landlord and recently had a heart attack and is now recovering.

Perhaps we need licensed and bonded tenants.Perhaps slumlords should not be aloud to own or rent properties if they can’t afford to get things fixed by a licensed or boned contractor   Perhaps morons like you should go back to school to learn how to spell and form a coherent sentence before attacking others on how to run a business

Any suggestions on attacking this debt?

It can lead to other health problems like heart attacks, strokes, etc....which coincidentally all happened to be a cause of death for many of my older relatives, so needless to say I made a point take the advice to do everything necessary to treat it. 

Having income properties paid off places your cash in a very high risk category, when markets turn or lawsuit leaches attack you will lose your money.

With this in mind, our current plan of attack is to focus on buy and hold investments, both single family and multifamily properties (whichever is the best deal, really).
