The major disadvantages being: Liquidity, less flexibility (can't short, sell options, etc). 

Recently, I took my RE license test for the state of NV and passed, but I have not associated with a broker because I would like to get more familiar with the advantages and or disadvantages of being and not being licensed while syndicating deals. 

To me this scares me a little andmakes me question if there is something about the area that is contributing to the vacancies.For instance if there are gunshots day in day out, I would hesitate to purchase in that area.I feel like I would also be putting myself at a disadvantage if I bought in an area where the vacancies are due to rents being too high for demographic.Am sorry am just not seeing the argument on this one and I am not intending to be mean, I just don’t understand the thread and I believe it might just be me overthinking and not seeing clearly what you are trying to communicate.I tend to have analysis paralysis so maybe this is simpler than it looks :).

And ultimately if I'm already looking at an investment loan rather than an owner-occupied refinance, what are the advantages/disadvantages of leaving property in my name vs rolling into an LLC?

A house or a stock, economist discuss the advantages / disadvantages to investing in one asset vs the other.The article does a great job, in my opinion, of drawing a comparison between the two investment strategies.

As is typical of other gurus, LeGrand left out much of the disadvantages of the various techniques.

So, in a dual agency you are at a disadvantage in some respects as you should not inform "your agent/facilitator" of everything relating to your side in confidence.

So would the disadvantage be a missed opportunity because the other party doesn't like that we're married?

I completely agree with @Joseph Ball that the first to name a price is at the disadvantage. 

If you dig in detail you will find that on average, especially for a single member LLC the disadvantages out weigh the advantages.
