As most have already said, as long as you haven't accepted them yet, you should be fine as long as your decision follows the Fair Housing Act (meaning you're declining of their application is not based on Race, Color, National Origin, Religion, Sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), Familial Status, or Disability).

Long gone are the days where the consumer-facing LO is allowed to take a pay cut or pay raise on a per-deal basis, now it's mostly on what you can give us, that we can turn around and sell to management (as they are the folks taking the per-deal hair cut), that also isn't going to expose the firm to any potential gender/race/disability/etc based discrimination lawsuits or Dodd-Frank/CFPB fines. 

The key is not your color or gender, but how you act.

What if someone qualifies on paper but you still get an untrustworthy vibe from them because of something they said or did (I don't mean race, gender, etc.)?

This will prevent condoms or other product liability issues and it’s more gender neutral which may or may not end up being relevant

As for other targeting.. you'll be able to only display your ads to certain genders, certain professions, and even certain incomes.
