Is there a way to stick the BC in some kind of escrow that is controlled by the lending institution so they can continue to cash in on appreciation and then they can cash it in at a later date rather than you doing it today?

I'm mostly a silent investor on that one, so I don't have much control over it.

Do you have control on the management group/rent price? 

Placing your own tenant takes longer (usually 3-4 months with inspections), but it gives you full control over who lives in your property, which is a huge plus in my book.

You can make more money if you have full control, but your time needs to be considered. 

Condo's are ill advised for investments because you possess far less control.
