I'd rather spend my time working with motivated people who follow through on my info requests than impulse people who really aren't ready to make a decision.

My husband (very conservative) and I (impulsive, sees opportunity everywhere) had the opportunity about 20 years ago to buy a beach house on Ocean Isle Beach, NC, for $150,000. 

Being that this is our first attempt at being landlords, we’d like to educate ourselves before making any impulsive decisions we’ll regret down the road. 

Not having read the rest of the thread, my first impulse - in your case - would be to say pay off your student loans first.

I can't believe most of you immediately are talking bad about said friends...I am starting to get the feeling people don't really use logic to think and jump on things only using emotion, impulse.. tsk tsk.Here is my take on it... 

I will not be impulsive but definitely quick when the right deal presents itself.

I fear this impulsive political decision will have a long lasting impact on the landlord industry. 

The man has never made an impulse purchase in his life.

They have huge problems with their impulse control probably. 

Impulse control:  This needs to be very strong.
