It was like this thing was some electrician's (with zero sense of aesthetics) project house.While I'm on the photo above, the architect, suggested changing the ceiling and having it follow the roofline so that the room felt better.

Electrical work in Florida requires a licensed electrician, not a handyman.  

This would also hold true for plumbers, electricians and roofers.

I am starting to build a quick-list of trusted/recommended plumbers, electricians, etc. in the Des Moines area that I can call in the event of an emergency.

The wife's father is an electrician on the island, and he has already helped with 2 things.

Looking specifically for a plumber and an electrician. 

My partner is a contractor, so he and most of his family (electricians, HVAC specialists) will be doing updates to the property, if that's helpful information.

Showers have mixing valves and await electrician to be able to add full green board.That "rough plumbing work" will become an issue in the future, but stay tuned for that!

My husband is a licensed electrician & general can do a lot of other projects type handyman & we will be doing the work between our "day jobs".
