The brick might need to be tuck pointed again which is time consuming and you have to make sure the brick has proper weeping drainage when it was installed.

You may be the first.That being said, tucking it in a door, putting it THROUGH a mail slot that is actually cut in the door, or putting it in their newspaper delivery box is more effective than using a mailbox and doesn't break any laws.However, hand delivery is very time consuming and expensive and probably not incrementally that much better than a mailing.
