I started 2 businesses that friends and family said they would never work. but after several years of hard work and persistence I ended up selling both of them for 7 figures. 

Pushing through the hard times and taking on the next challenge takes persistence. 

The autistic child apparently is the one creating the most noise.A few days later, the noise persisted and the upstairs tenant came down and knocked on her door at 1:00 in the morning to confront her on the noise.

Persistence paid off even though we had to babysit this thing for 8 years.  

Since your thieves seem to be persistent, I might also try a "Tagg Dog Tracker" -- wireless, battery operated, gps device that your thieves can carry back to their den.

Competition is fierce right now, but if you stay consistent and persistent you will have success.I have found personally that with so much competition from other investors, sellers are getting many offers with zero contingencies.

You have to  be persistent in your search.
