One saving grace in all this present debacle with Rentals in California, is that this 2020 intrusion by government into California Rentals will lead to fewer Rentals in California, which in turn, will cause renters to move out of California, in search of where Rentals are more plentiful, & saving any future government's expenses in relocating people out of California, once the extreme drought conditions in California resume.

I'm also careful about accepting cash rent payments, especially at night.I'm not naive nor do I overreact and, say, require all potential tenants to apply before seeing my property or giving me their IDs/license plates/resume/whatever.
