Ikea has some really nice drop ins now where the faucet is mounted in the stone.This below is a "lipstick on a pig" fixup I did on an old built-in some years ago, painted the cabs, replaced pulls, laid splash, made the counter and bought new appliances.

They're considerably more expensive if you're trying to do a home (vs one space) and the units mounted on the interior walls are not expected and considered obtrusive by some.I do think they'll become more common over time but while I've seen lots of them during international travel, I've never seen one installed here.

It would take me a day to cut the counter pieces and sink holes, a day to stain and poly and another day to install (pieces in place and get the sink and faucet placed)... the product held up well and still looks good, but you can’t have an under mount sink and it just turned into a time thing.

I'd be inclined to stay with my lever locks given how many STRs I've stayed in out east where the motorized deadbolts don't quite align and end up jamming, but I'm open to others' experiences in this space.
