If you have reason to doubt them or their capability of being a sound or good tenant and that reason is supported on paper AND your gut instinct/conscience is buzzing, you are probably right. 

I guess nowadays they just figure the government will figure they're too big to fail now.My loans were a long time ago.  

We have the CHA tenants that have had no income for their entire life and they do nothing but sit home all day, bored, causing drama(We try to avoid these nowadays).

most everyone that calls just RUSHES right into 'what's the address' and 'when can i see it'.nowadays, most dont even introduce themself over the phone nor seem to want to divulge any info related to their household (perhaps thats normal for urban areas?)

Now adays its pretty easy for the landlord to research them.

They treated me like royalty, and even called me up a week later to ask how things were going.That credit union will have my business for life.Customers have choices nowadays.  

And how many employers nowadays tell you you're going to lose your job, yet keep letting you work?  

For what it's worth.But also what @Colleen F. said, nowadays any responsible person would not simply quit their job without having something else lined up (unless one is "rich" enough to not care).

The key is if it is normal operating noise or has annoying buzzes or whistling.
