Well after demoing half the sheet rock,and pulling the carpet, most of the smell was gone.

Also if the smell you describe is into the sheetrock, then it might be worth it to demo it all as well.Keep in mind, electricians almost always "ask" for the drywall to be removed.

Not sure if it is their responsibility or yours (I always pull city info on any house I plan to purchase) to discover or divulge the home being slated for demo... but it can't hurt to open dialogue with the seller and their team.

Also the re-installing toilets (removed for tile demo), and hooking up dishwasher must be done by a licensed plumber/electrician.

What I would do now is do all the demo and clean up and then offer it for sale on the MLS.
